Social Worker III

This position will maintain a caseload of half adoption cases and half cases in which the permanent plan has been changed to termination of parental rights and adoption. Will also maintain some Adoption Assistance cases. The position will be the liaison between agency and legal representation in consummation of the adoption including supervision and reports to the court; counsels in independent, relative, and stepparent adoptions in accordance with the North Carolina statutes; facilitates interstate, inter-county adoption according to the interstate compact; does supportive counseling with adoptive families to help all members with long-range adjustment and to help adoptee understand his biological heritage within the bounds of the law. Will share on-call duties on a rotating basis with other staff. Position reports directly to the CPS Team IV Supervisor. Other related duties as required by Supervisor.
