- About this Opportunity
- A Social Worker III – Second Shift works four 10-hour shifts providing afternoon and evening coverage for both Adult and Child Protective Services. This position does not carry a caseload and is responsible for assisting with courtesy requests, initiating cases, and family/collateral contacts. The schedule is Tuesday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Job responsibilities include
- Conduct face-to-face interviews with children and adults on new and existing cases
- Assist with CPS and APS intake
- Complete safety and risk assessments
- Complete timely and concise documentation
- Knowledge of child welfare policies and legal mandates
- Knowledge of social work and practices and principles (particularly strengths-based)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Assessments Skills
- Communication Skills (oral and written)
- Organizational Skills
- Critical thinking Skills

- Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; or
- Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); or
- Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; or
- Master's degree in a human services field and one year of directly related experience; or
- Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; or
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment. Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pound of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
