Job Title:  Adult Medicaid Long Term Care/ Special Assistance IMC III Location:  Chatham County Department of Social Services Contact Person:  Nancy Burgess Telephone number:  919-642-6905 Address to send application:  Chatham County Human Resources, PO Box 1809, Pittsboro, NC  27312   For printable State of North Carolina Application (PD-107):  http://oshr.nc.gov/document/nc-state-government-application-employment-pd-107   Or apply online at:  https://arcg.is/0148iK   Job Summary This position is responsible for processing applications and recertifications for Adult Medicaid, Long Term Care, PACE, Special Assistance and CAP Care Services programs following state and federal policy and procedures.  Employees work with clients to gather information through the interview process for the purpose of determining applicant/client eligibility as well as to inform the client of their rights and obligations as prescribed under the programs polices. Employees work includes direct contact with the client and direct or indirect contact with the clients families, representatives and other agencies in order to gather and verify any information necessary to determine eligibility for the program(s). Employees must explain program requirements and options and advise or refer clients to other program services as appropriate. Casework also includes completing bi-annual or annual reviews and addressing changes to determine ongoing eligibility.   This position requires considerable knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant. General knowledge of all income maintenance programs. Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills. Ability to communicate with clients/applicants and other community agencies. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of regulations, policies and procedures of varying complexity. Ability to work independently and prioritize work. Ability to understand the needs and problems of clients/applicants. Ability to perform caseworker functions within structured time frames accurately.   Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma and two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.   Salary $44,308; Grade 59   Position Closing Date Closes August 22, 2023 @ 5:00pm   Chatham County is an equal opportunity employer
