DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as senior administrator in directing social work and services programs for Randolph County Department of Social Services. Manage all direct social work services within the Agency, including Child Protective Services, CPS In-Home, Foster Care, Adoptions, Adult Guardianship, Adult Protective Services, and Work First. Direct daily activities of staff through two high level Program Administrators; evaluate quality of services to ensure compliance with standards and oversee organizational changes. Organizing, implementing, managing and directing the work of assigned programs within the agency. Provide leadership and vision to various work groups within the agency. Must have knowledge of personnel administration, program planning and community collaboration.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s Degree in accredited school of social work and four years of social work or counseling experience, two of which were supervisory; or bachelor’s degree in social work and five years of social work or counseling experience, two of which were supervisory; or bachelor’s degree in a human services field or related curriculum including at least 15 semester hours in courses related to social work or counseling and six years of social work or counseling experience, two of which were supervisory; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have administrative experience involving participation in the planning and management of a business or governmental program with a demonstrated skill in strategic planning and recruitment and retention of human services staff; or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Requires valid North Carolina driver’s license, good driving record and transportation for use at work. Oral and written interviews. A verbal Spanish test will be given if applicant lists Spanish as a second language.
