Job Description

Person County Government is recruiting for a Child Support Agent II for the Department of Social Services. This position is located in the Child Support Services Unit in the Income Maintenance Program area.  The primary purpose of this unit is to assist families in locating non-custodial parents, establishing paternity, and establishing and enforcing court orders for financial and medical support for children. The primary purpose of the Child Support Agent II (CSA II) is to provide child support services to public assistance and non-public assistance clients in locating non-custodial parents, establishing paternity, establishing support orders, and enforcing and/or modifying support and medical support orders. This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually. Minimum Education and Experience Required Minimum Training: A four year degree and six months experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides knowledges, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or an associates degree in business administration, human resources, law enforcement or closely related degree and two years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides knowledges, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or graduation from high school and three years of experience in eligibility, investigative, judiciary, or legal work that provides knowledges, skills and abilities needed to perform the work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Special Requirements/Qualifications   Additional Training/Experience: Child Support Services Phase One Training (New Worker Training); ACTS training; CSENet Training; experience with State Information Systems.
