Job Title:  Clinical Social Worker Location:  Chatham County Department of Social Services Contact Person:  Nancy Burgess Telephone number:  919-642-6905 Address to send application:  Chatham County Human Resources, PO Box 1809, Pittsboro, NC  27312 For printable State of North Carolina Application (PD-107): http://oshr.nc.gov/document/nc-state-government-application-employment-pd-107 or apply online at:  https://chathamnc.seamlessdocs.com/f/ChathamJobApplication   Job Summary:  This position is responsible for providing clinical social work services including mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to individuals (children and adults), families and groups in serious and complicated cases involving severe emotional disorders, developmental disabilities, substance abuse disorders and/or mental illnesses.   Primary responsibilities are the provision of individual, group, and family therapy for individuals with moderate and severe mental health disorders facing complex family situations including physical abuse, domestic violence, sexual abuse, substance abuse, trauma, foster care, and medical problems. Work includes in-depth assessment, diagnosis, and independent selection and use of varied treatment modalities in addressing the complex needs of individuals who may be experiencing a wide array of mental health and/or substance use disorders.  This position may be called upon to testify as an expert witness in court hearings.   Applicant must have excellent oral and written skills.  Applicant must be able to communicate and work effectively with individuals from varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Applicant must have computer proficiency and must be flexible to accommodate varied task assignments and schedules.   Minimum Qualifications:  Master’s degree in social work from an accredited institution and two years of supervised social work experience as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.  Completion of a North Carolina Child Treatment Program Learning Collaborative for evidenced-based treatments including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and/or Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) or equivalent program preferred.  Child welfare experience preferred.  Provisionally licensed applicants may be considered as a trainee appointment.   Minimum Education and Experience Requirements for Trainee Appointment: Master’s degree from an appropriately accredited school of social work and an associate clinical license.   Necessary Special Qualification Requirements:  One must fulfill all requirements for Licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board and without current or pending disciplinary action by the Licensure Board.   Salary: Salary grade 66; $54,009   Position Closing Date: July 30, 2021 @ 5:00pm   Chatham County is an equal opportunity employer
