About this Opportunity
Brunswick County Department of Social Services is accepting applications for an Economic Services Medicaid Program Manager II.  We are looking for the right person to join our Team. The Economic Services Medicaid Program Manager II provides supervision, training, support, and leadership to the Adult, Family, and Children Medicaid Units. Job responsibilities include:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of supervisors, quality assurance program specialists, and staff responsible for the programs.
  • This position is one of two Economic Services Program Manager positions reporting to the Director of Social Services.
  • Provide direct supervision to five supervisors and four quality assurance program specialists.
  • Responsible for developing policy and procedures for the programs, ensuring quality and timeliness standards are met, tracking training, reports, and certifications as well as acting on employee problems, selecting new employees, and conducting staff evaluations.
  • Preparing and monitoring monthly quality assurance reports.

Hours are 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday.   Must be available to work during emergency situations. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with five years of experience in social services plus three years supervisor experience in the area of eligibility determination; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience in the administration of Economic Service Programs and considerable knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations of these programs is required. Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including common office machines such as calculators and copiers, etc. Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.   Physical demand requirements are more than those for Sedentary Work. Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
