INCOME MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR I Position # 656301 Salary Range:       $44,698 - $70,643 Primary Purpose of Position: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Supervisor I and assist in planning, organizing, and implementing strategies to meet the goals of the unit; gather data to assist in the evaluating subordinates’ progress; aid in maintaining work standards and policies established by the supervisor/agency; and encourage harmony, cooperation, and teamwork.  This position is responsible for reviewing cases in the NC Fast system in order to ensure that correct information is provided to clients.   In the event of a natural or man-made disaster, this worker could be called upon to open and operate an emergency shelter.  This position is responsible for other duties as assigned by the supervisor, program administrator, and/or director. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Considerable knowledge of all income maintenance programs, forms, and documents used in determining eligibility. Considerable knowledge of the use of the income maintenance manuals. Considerable knowledge of needs, problems, and attitudes of disadvantaged persons. General knowledge of all agency programs and services. General knowledge of community services and programs which could affect the client/applicant. General knowledge of the budget process. Good mathematical, reasoning, and computational skills. Ability to instruct, organize, direct, and supervise lower level employees. Ability to learn basic supervisory/management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with workers, supervisors, applicants, and community agencies to obtain pertinent data and to interpret rules and regulations. Ability to present information orally and in written form. Minimum Education and Experience: Two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or Investigator in an Income Maintenance Program; or an equivalent combination of training or experience. Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) and NC FAST Certificate are preferred. Valid North Carolina driver's license required. Bilinguals encouraged to apply.
