Social Services Manager (Adult Services)

Essential Duties New Hanover County is seeking an experienced Social Services Manager for the Adult Services program to join the Social Services department.  This position directs and supervises the work of 5 teams of adult services staff.   Duties include directly coordinating services provided by vendors and community organizations; ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and standards for adult services; managing special client situations and problems; compiling and analyzing statistical reports; assisting with budget preparation; monitoring program expenditures; and performing public relations and community education activities. Minimum Qualifications MSW from an accredited school of social work and 6 years of professional social work experience; or a BSW from an accredited school of social work and 7 years of professional social work experience; or a four-year degree in a human services field and 8 years of related social work experience.  Must have two (2) years of supervisory experience.  MSW strongly preferred. Knowledge of community resources, funding sources, and budgeting desired.   Must have good driving record and own transportation. Licenses/Certifications Valid NC Driver's License Other Information Hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, and on-call after hours. Must be available to work during emergency situations.
