Social Work Supervisor III  Position Number: 165-40-501       Investigations/Assessment:  The task of the CPS Assessment Supervisor is to supervise a staff of five (5) social workers. Additional responsibilities include assigning cases to staff, coordinating workflow operations, and supervising staff through case review and consultation. Responsibilities also include staff training, resolving problems and ensuring that quality services are provided.  Response priority for child welfare investigations range from immediate to 72 hours.  Position rotates on-call duty after hours with other supervisors.  Employee performs other duties as assigned.  A valid NC driver’s license and access to a passenger vehicle is required. Employees operating their personal vehicles for county business shall maintain the minimum liability coverage required by the State of North Carolina in accordance with the County Fleet Policy and Employee Safety Program (page 10, section.) Child Welfare social workers must live within range of the beeper.  This position performs disaster related duties during emergency disasters and shelter openings. Position is in the Tarboro office; however, office location may change based on the needs of the agency. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  Knowledge of methods and principles of casework supervision and training. Considerable knowledge of social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework and community problems. Considerable knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment and governmental and private organizations and community resources. Considerable knowledge of the laws, regulations and policies which govern social work programs. Ability to supervise, train, or orient lower-level social workers, students, interns, or other staff. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively. Minimum Training and Experience: MSW from an accredited school of social work and two years of directly related experience; BSW from an accredited school of social work and three (3) years of directly related experience; MS degree in a human services field and three (3) years of directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and four (4) years of directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five (5) years of directly related experience.  Salary Range: $43,691.00 or possibly higher depending on experience and credentials. Compensation for full-time employees include excellent benefits that total over $9,000.00 annually. Application Period: 06/13/2022-Open Until Filled.
