Job Description
A. Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit:
The Family and Children’s Services Program Area focuses on enhancing the welfare of the children in the county by promoting their physical safety, emotional, educational and social well-being. This is accomplished through coordination of services with other agencies, the court system and by a cooperative effort with all Title XX services.
B. Primary Purpose of Position:
The After-Hours On-Call Social Worker provides after hours and weekend coverage for Intake and Crisis Intervention for the Family and Children’s Services Program Area of the Department. In addition, this worker also provides after hours check on families with whom the agency is already providing services.
C. Work Schedule:
The After-Hours On-Call Social Worker will work a schedule of seven (7) days on duty and seven (7) days off duty.
The social worker will begin rotation every other Friday at 2:00 p.m. and work the entire weekend through 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning. Monday through Thursday, during their rotation, the worker will report to the Agency at 4:00 p.m. and begin work and continue until 8:00 a.m. the following morning. This Social Worker will be responsible for coming into the office each morning at 8:00 a.m. to input any reports and consult with workers and Supervisor’s regarding work from the night before. This worker is responsible for being in the office for unit meetings and consultation ten (10) hours each week they are on duty. This worker will also be required to be available for court appearances, continuing education and agency wide meetings.
