Social Worker I/A/T

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: The Family and Children’s Services Section of the Social Work Services Division focuses on enhancing the welfare of the children in the County promoting their physical safety, emotional, educational and social well-being through coordination of services with other agencies, the court system and by a cooperative effort with all Title XX services. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: An I/A/T (Investigations/Assessment/Treatment) Services Social Worker assesses the child/children’s environment and develops a service agreement to set goals and meet the needs which will help in prevention of neglect and abuse; to provide specialized planning, coordination and delivery of services with focus on enabling the caretaker to modify or change the home.  To provide adequate services, the I/A/T Services Social Worker must help families utilize resources within the agency and community to reach these goals and facilitate change. WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule for this position will be from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Some overtime may be required occasionally, and the worker will be compensated in the form of compensatory time earned at a rate of time and one half after forty hours are worked in a week.
