Salary Range: $42,627.62 - $70,335.57 (Compensation negotiable within the salary range for fully qualified applicants. Salary rates are based on education, skill, and experience level as well as internal equity and market rates.)

Catawba County Social Services is seeking a Social Worker II (Volunteer Coordinator) to join the Senior Nutrition Services team. A great work environment, Senior Nutrition Services offer team-work, flexible schedules, and variety in work tasks. In this role you will manage a volunteer pool of over 700 volunteers, including recruitment, training, and coordination as well as provide social work/case management for the participants in the Home Delivered Meals Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruits, selects, trains, schedules, and manages 700 or more volunteers for the Home Delivered Meals Program
- Develops driving routes for meal delivery and ensures meals are delivered within the specified time standards
- Receives a portion of referrals for the Home Delivered Meals Program based on region
- Provides social work/case management for a portion of Home Delivered Meals recipients, including home visits and phone contacts, to maintain seniors safely at home
- Provides service coordination and referrals for participants to other community services that are needed
- Documentation/Record-keeping
- Collaborates with team to complete fundraising activities, which includes an annual “signature” event in addition to smaller fundraisers
- Provides support for any area of program which needs attention (i.e. answering phones, distributing meals, back-up support for Home Delivered Meal Coordinator during absence)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a human service field and 1 year or social worker experience: OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a non-human services field and 2 years of social work experience
- A valid NC Driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with an outgoing personality
- Ability to work collaboratively with team and community members
- Highly creative and innovative with comfortability trying new things
- Ability to coordinate programs, remain organized and flexible and pay attention to details
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Knowledge of the delivery area and ability to develop maps for efficient delivery
- Effective computer skills
- This is considered light work; may lift up to 20 pounds to carry meals and coolers.
