Social Worker III – Adult Protective Services

Description of Work:

Position’s primary responsibilities are to investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elderly and disabled adults; and to provide intensive social work services to adults in the community by assessing individual and family dynamics and needs, serving as expert witness at court hearings, crisis intervention, and counseling.   Knowledge and Skill Requirements:  Knowledge and skill requirements include but are not limited to the following: Knowledge and understanding of advanced social work investigative and assessment techniques; Considerable knowledge of legal and administrative aspects of programs; Ability to work effectively as a member of a multi disciplinary team; Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with members of caseload and their families as well as civic, legal, medical, social, and religious organizations; and Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.   Minimum Training and Experiment Requirements:  Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor’s degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master’s degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.
