POSITION: INCOME MAINTENANCE CASEWORKER III (Lead Worker).
UNIT: ADULT MEDICIAD
TYPE OF POSITION: PERMANENT/FULL TME MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
GRADE: 65
SALARY: $34,728.00
DUTIES:
This position will provide professional human services work, assisting the Income Maintenance Supervisor II and the Income Maintenance Program Manager, with the Adult Medicaid Unit. This unit performs the intake and eligibility functions of the various Adult Medicaid Programs and the State/County Special Assistance Program. This position will serve as lead worker over the unit’s staff; conducting second party reviews, provide training for new and existing staff regarding the unit’s programs and NC FAST computer system; and covering vacant caseloads as deemed necessary to meet business needs. This position will carry a small caseload.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The person in this position must have a thorough knowledge of the Adult Medicaid Program. This person is responsible for assisting the supervisor in the day-to-day supervision of the Adult Medicaid Unit. Must be proficient using the NC Fast system.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITES:
Considerable knowledge of the Adult Medicaid programs is required. General knowledge of all agency and community programs and services, which could affect the resident/applicant, is important. This position also requires good mathematical reasoning and computations skills. An ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures is required. The person in this position must have an ability to communicate with subordinates, the residents, the public at large, and public officials to obtain data, and to explain and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures. This position requires the person to have an ability to perform functions within structured timeframes.
