Job Description

Job Purpose The IM Program Administrator II serves as a senior administrator who will provide direct leadership in the areas of administration, supervision, coordination and day-to-day operations of the Income Maintenance Department to include Food & Nutrition Services, Work First, Adult Medicaid, Family & Children’s Medicaid, Quality Assurance and Training, Energy Programs and Subsidized Childcare.  This position is responsible for the direct supervision of 3 Income Maintenance Program Administrator Is and further responsible for the indirect supervision of 121 front-line staff and supervisory positions within Economic Services. This position serves as part of the agency Executive Leadership, Management, and Leadership teams while working closely with the Assistant Director of Services and Agency Director. Responsibilities
  • Implements administrative standards, processes, and controls;
  • Supervises, directs, trains, evaluates division staff, develops and prioritizes division objectives, work standards and performance criteria.  
  • Evaluates financial needs and expenditures on an ongoing basis based on program data and outcome measurements.
  • Participates in oversight of assigned special projects or assignments associated with the goals and missions of the Agency and as they pertain to areas within the scope of Income Maintenance, including but not limited to drafting new or revised Agency policy, drafting working agreements between our Agency and other providers, or simply representing the Agency on a special Task Force or committee within the community or at the State level.
This position must respond to disasters as needed in accordance with the Alamance County DSS policy or upon the declaration of a state of emergency by the Alamance County Emergency Management Office. Education & Experience: Three years of supervisory or administrative experience, two of which must have been in an income maintenance or service program and preferably with one year of experience in an income maintenance program; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Within position you must have thorough knowledge of Income Maintenance programs and the ability to determine eligibility for all programs. All DSS positions are subject to reallocation contingent upon funding, agency needs and client population and are subject to perform work during emergency or disaster situations as required and may be required to staff shelter overnight. Computer Skills: Prior computer skills experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). License/Credentials: Possession of a valid NC driver's license.
