Job Description

Description of Job Duties:  The primary purpose of this position is to provide supervisory responsibilities for Quality Assurance performance, Medicaid Transportation, and NC FAST troubleshooting.  This unit consists of 6 Income Maintenance Caseworker III Quality Assurance/NC FAST Troubleshooters, 1 Income Maintenance Caseworker II – Medicaid Transportation, 1 Public Information Assistant IV, and 1 Office Assistant III.  This position reports directly to the Income Maintenance Administrator II. This supervisor is responsible to oversee the workflow to ensure goals required by the state and federal guidelines and policies are met.  This position must ensure training for new and on-going staff, and that policy and procedures are followed in order to provide assistance to all eligible persons.  This position is responsible for ensuring that assistance is provided accurately and in a timely manner.  This position monitors program performance standards and ensures compliance is met.  This position conducts staff meetings, individual conferences with staff, evaluates and recommends disciplinary action if necessary; conducts interviews for vacant positions within this unit, and makes recommendations for new hires.  This Supervisor monitors employees’ hours worked and approves or denies leave. This employee will learn and use programs Compass Pilot and Compass Appointments (Compass Co-Pilot, if issued a DSS iPad) as required by position to do, but not limited to: request leave, schedule/receive appropriate appointments, set up virtual files, scan/retrieve documents, and receive/send tasks. Educational/Experience Requirements: Three years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program, preferably with one year of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
