DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The primary purpose of this position is two-fold in that it provides guardianship case management services to individuals who have been adjudicated as incompetent by the court. This position also monitors various types of adult care homes in making sure they operate within the applicable rules, regulations and laws.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of licensure laws and regulations (state and federal), related NC General Statutes, fire and building codes, social work theory and practice. Considerable knowledge of medical, behavioral, and psychosocial problems and their treatment theory. Considerable knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes and their treatment as they relate to decisions regarding clinical interventions and therapies based on medical or psychological diagnosis. General knowledge of State/County Special Assistance for Adults policy, Adult Protective Services, Guardianship, Adult Placement, Medicaid, and Adult Care Home Case management policies. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative superiors, co-workers, clients, and the community, social and religious organizations, medical and mental health professionals, home care professionals, adult home professionals, law enforcement and the courts, and disabled or aged individuals. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan and execute work effectively.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Social Work from an Accredited School
• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver's License
• Pass a criminal background check
• Must be of Good Moral Character
